Resident Appreciation Day & Summer in DC

It’s the most magical time of year. The time to appreciate you! That’s right, you- our residents! This June hosts Resident Appreciation Day which recognizes all of our amazing residents that call The Burton community their home.

Not only is June home to Resident Appreciation Day- one of the most important holidays- but also the official start of the summer season and LGBTQ+ Pride month. Additionally, June celebrates the National Month of Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness, Aquariums, Great Outdoors, and Iced Tea.

Of course, while living at The Burton you’re living in Washington D.C. where there are plenty of amazing things to do this summer in the city. Check out the National Mall, where free festivals and museums lure, catch exciting baseball action at Nationals Park or make a splash at the District’s waterfronts.

For those who love the theatre, enjoy a free performance at Shakespeare Theatre Company. Enjoy Jazz in the Garden, with different events going on all summer long. Turn summer nights into summer memories with an outdoor morning screening. Gain a new perspective on iconic monuments by kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding past famous structures like the Lincoln Memorial and the Kennedy Center. No matter which adventure you choose, you’ll find the capital city fascinating in the summertime.
